Here’s the old male swamp wallaby being relaxed but watchful as the dogs and I pass by in the early morning mist. Unlike kangaroos which roam around in large numbers (up to, say, 20 or 30), the handful of swamp wallabies that live around our property tend to be solitary.
This old male Swamp Wallaby (Wallabia bicolor) is a regular around the house. He loves to eat rose leaves from our potted garden. It looks like he doesn’t mind vine leaves either. He’s become used to us and here he let me get within about 1 metre (3 or 4 feet) before he decided that that was close enough.
