Outback 2013: Cordillo Downs woolshed

The stone woodshed at Cordillo Downs was built in 1883. Why stone? There’s no significant quantity of wood to be found in this area.

The woodshed originally boasted 88 stands (i.e. up to 88 shearers could shear sheep at any one time). This was increased to 120 stands by 1890. It must have been pretty crowded in there.
