OK, so there’s a first time for everything. I had thought that snail racing was odd, but here we race lizards.
I can’t quite see 5,000 spectators crowding round this track – perhaps it’s easier to watch from the pub across the road.

Since 5,000 is probably everyone in the shire and the ones either side, it seems rather amazing. Maybe people come from all over the world, but you wonder where they all stay.
