The area through which we travelled to get to Mary’s View is heavily timbered. Much of it is now National Park or State Forest. Once upon a time there were timber mills dotted everywhere and old equipment can be found in many locations.

This stationary engine is a reminder of the effort that the old timers went to to drag equipment into this remote location.
