Mary’s View: Mt. Duval

Way back in the centre background, and assuming I’ve lined up the correct peak) is the hazy top of Mt. Duval, an iconic landmark that sits not too far north of Armidale. From Mary’s View the crow would have to fly 70 km (43 miles) to get to Mt. Duval.

That’s Mt Duval all right, the shape of that mountain is so distinctive you can’t miss it. I don’t know about you, but I have always used it as the first sign that home is near, with all the excitement that brings to a tired traveller.

Hi Chris. You can imagine my surprise at being able to see Mt. Duval from Mary’s View – that’s quite a hike.
