Yudnamutana, a couple of hours slow drive from Arkaroola, is another of those in-the-middle-of-nowhere places. Miners, many of them from Cornwall, have left their mark in the form of old mines in the area. Remember, we’re still in arid northern South Australia; there’s no water here for much of the year, yet they mined here towards the end of the nineteenth century in the belief that they would make their fortunes, or at least a handsome profit.
