Birds Nest Hut

Much of the history of the land that is now National Park is still untold. Immediately prior to being added to Werrikimbe National Park, the land was cattle country. Given that when working here they were far from their homes, the cattlemen and stockmen built shelters and huts on the escarpment and in the gorges.

This hut is Birds Nest Hut. The origin of the name “Birds Nest” for the locale is currently unknown.
