Edward Fay, Sydney

I was in Sydney for a few days and so went off photo-walking. Here’s an interesting clock-face – the hours of the day have been replaced by the name of the business.

  1. Edward Fay says:

Searching for my Australian relatives from NSW, I came across this interesting photo. Can you give me the location please? What type of shop was it?

    • Janice Rowe says:

Fays Chambers.. Originally a four storey Lindon Bank Chambers, Lindon House, built in 1888.
In 1918 Edward Fay Pty ltd. Took over the site, and the Building was renamed as stated previously Fays Chambers,
EDWARD FAY SOLD SHOES..The building is on the corners of Pitt street and Liverpool Streets in Sydney
      ..Hope this info is helpful..

  2. Rob Smith says:

    Hi Ed,
I’m descended from Edward john Fay’s daughter Catherine b1832 Roscrea, Tipperary d1902 Leichhardt, Sydney. It would be good to make contact.
    Regards, Rob ([email protected])

  3. Sandra Thompson says:

this clock is the clock on the building that my grandfather Edward Fay worked as the director of Fay’s Shoes. I think it is on the corner of Pitt And Market St.,Sydney
