Just add water

The Dumaresq Creek that flows through Armidale west to east, meets Commissioners Waters a few kilometres east of Armidale. Commissioners Waters crosses the Grafton Road a few further kilometres downstream. The water is usually only 4 or 5 metres (c. 15 feet) wide at this point but the rain falling onto already saturated land means that the amount of runoff is much higher than usual.

To give some idea of scale, the grey blur at the top left edge of the photograph, just below the horizon, is the Grafton Road.
