Namoi River

Namoi River

As we head for Warrabah National Park (near Barraba) we ford the Namoi River. Being west of the Great Dividing Range, rivers flow inland. Inland, though, is in the grips of a major drought. A small amount of rain recently has helped fill the water holes in the rivers, but the rivers themselves aren’t flowing much to speak of. Water supplies for much of New South Wales are dwindling.
