Satin Bowerbird

Not a big photo day today with too much happening at work – except for the Satin Bowerbird.

An audioBlog accompanies these photographs [2.8 Mbytes, 6 min 43 sec duration]. The audio commentary is also distributed as a podcast. You need to subscribe to my RSS2 feed towards the bottom of the right hand column on this page and you need to use aggregator software capable of utilising this.

Satin Bowerbird
I’ve seen a pair of these birds around, off and on, for a while now. One got close enough to photograph this morning (as it stole not-ripe strawberries from the herb garden). The photograph is an almost-100% crop from a larger image so the end result is a bit grainy. The bird is a Satin Bowerbird; probably an immature male, or perhaps a female.

Jet trail
This moving object caught my eye this evening with the bright jet trail being illuminated by the low sun.

The Brother Gatti Walk
I’ve passed this park countless times – but I’ve never, ever noticed that this path had a name.

Sunset sheep
With my looking forward to winding down from a hectic week, these sheep grazing in the setting sun seemed quite tranquil.
