Scrammy Gorge at Bladensburg National Park, near Winton, Outback Queensland. A gorge that’s unusual, at least to me, in that it appears that it continues to grow by virtue of the softer under-cap rock crumbling away – slowly but surely.

Outback 2011: Lonely grave

Once a huge cattle property, this land is now Bladensburg National Park. This site marks the life and death, and lonely grave, of young Delia Dalrymple who die here in January 1884.

Lest we forget how what we now think of as simple health issues, were once fatal.
